Blue Tree Phuket has reinvented itself. If you visited before 2024 and remember the turquoise lagoon and water sports — that chapter is over. The lagoon permanently closed in August 2024. What remains is a genuinely interesting open-air community mall: restaurants, specialty cafes, retail, Padel courts, a skate park, an adventure village for kids, and over a million visitors in 2025. This guide covers what Blue Tree actually is in 2026 — so you arrive knowing what to expect.
⚠️ Important update: The Blue Tree Lagoon water park permanently closed in August 2024. Water sports (SUP, wakeboarding, kayaking, inflatable slides) are no longer available. Blue Tree now operates as an open-air lifestyle and community mall. All other activities, restaurants, and shops remain open daily.
What is Blue Tree Phuket in 2026?
Blue Tree Phuket opened in 2019 as a water park and lifestyle complex centred on a large artificial lagoon. In June 2024, management announced the permanent closure of the Blue Tree Lagoon and its water sports operations. By August 2024 the water park was fully closed.
Since then, Blue Tree has repositioned as a community hub and open-air lifestyle mall. The address is the same — 4/2 Srisoonthorn Road, Cherngtalay, Thalang District — and the scale of the complex is unchanged. What has changed is the focus: instead of water sports, visitors come for dining, shopping, sports courts, kids' activities, and community events.
The numbers suggest the repositioning is working: Blue Tree attracted over 1 million visitors in 2025. It draws from a strong residential catchment — 5,754 nearby residences, 13,000 nearby hotel rooms, and five international schools within a few minutes' drive. For families and expats living in the Bangtao–Laguna–Cherngtalay corridor, it has become part of weekly routine. For tourists, it is a relaxed half-day option that does not require much planning.
Getting There & Parking
Blue Tree is located at the northern end of Cherngtalay, just off the main Srisoonthorn Road. From the most common tourist areas:
- Bangtao Beach / Laguna Phuket: 8–10 minutes by car or motorbike, heading north on Srisoonthorn Road. Blue Tree is on your left before the main Cherngtalay intersection.
- Surin Beach: Approximately 15 minutes, heading north through Cherngtalay village.
- Kamala Beach: 20–25 minutes, heading north via Surin.
- Patong: 25–30 minutes via the main Phuket ring road (Route 4026 to Route 4030).
- Phuket Town: 35–40 minutes via the Northern Bypass or Thepkasattri Road.
- Phuket International Airport: 25 minutes, heading south on Route 4026.
By taxi or Grab: Search "Blue Tree Phuket" in Grab — it appears correctly. A Grab from Bangtao typically costs 80–120 baht. From Patong expect 200–300 baht.
Parking: Free and spacious — over 900 spaces. The car park is directly adjacent to the entrance. On weekday mornings before 10am it is essentially empty. Weekend afternoons in high season (December–March) can be busier. Motorbike parking is also free and easy.
Activities & Zones
Padel Tennis — Padel Phuket
Padel has become one of the standout reasons to visit Blue Tree in 2026. Padel Phuket, located within the complex, is considered the largest Padel facility in Thailand — currently six courts, four indoor and two outdoor, all built to international standards. Whether you are a regular player or a complete beginner, the facility caters to both. Court bookings can be made in advance and are popular, especially in the evenings.
Adventure Village & Kids' Zones
The Adventure Village continues to operate and remains one of the most popular areas for families. It features trampolines, a foam pit, ziplines, donut slides, a climbing net, and a roller skating rink. The atmosphere is energetic and well-suited for children aged 5–14, though adults join in regularly. Operating hours are approximately 10am–8pm.
Blue Tree also has Kids' Planet — a dedicated younger children's area designed for toddlers and preschoolers (ages 1.5–6). It is an enclosed space with age-appropriate play equipment and guided activities led by staff, making it a genuine option for parents with very young children.
Skate Park
Blue Tree has an outdoor skate park designed by a professional skater, featuring ramps, rails, ledges, and obstacles suitable for all levels. It is one of the better skate spots in Phuket and is regularly used by the local community. If you or someone in your group skates, it is worth knowing about.
Outdoor Gym & Forest Park
The Forest Park area within Blue Tree features 5 km of trails for jogging, walking, and running through green common areas. Three fitness centres and outdoor gyms are also available, making it a genuine outdoor wellness option — not just a shopping destination.
Retail, Wellness & Community Shops
Blue Tree's retail and wellness scene has grown significantly since the lagoon closure. Highlights worth knowing about:
- Tops Supermarket — Thailand's premium supermarket chain, open daily 8am–11pm. Great for groceries, imported goods, and snacks before or after your visit.
- Kids' Planet — Indoor play and learning zone for children ages 1.5–6. Guided activities, costumes, science experiments. A proper structured space for young kids while parents relax nearby.
- Evare Boutique — Fashion retail within the complex, worth a browse if you are into local and independent clothing brands.
- Soulmates — Another fashion and lifestyle boutique at Blue Tree, popular with the local expat community.
- Cutz Culture — Premium men's barber shop, open daily 10am–7pm. A proper cut in a good atmosphere, right inside the complex.
- Cha Nail Flora — Full-service nail and beauty spa, Monday–Saturday 9am–6pm.
Several art installations are dotted around the complex, and the open-air layout makes it easy to wander between zones without feeling rushed.
Events
Blue Tree regularly hosts concerts, markets, and community events — particularly on weekends. Check their social channels before visiting if you want to catch something specific, or simply arrive and see what is happening. The open-air format makes it a natural venue for this kind of programming.
Food & Drink at Blue Tree
Blue Tree's food and beverage scene is genuinely varied and has strengthened since the repositioning. A few highlights:
Matchoya — Matcha Cafe (Our Home)
We are biased, but we also genuinely believe we make the best matcha latte in Cherngtalay. Matchoya is the matcha and specialty cafe at Blue Tree Phuket. We source ceremonial grade matcha directly from Uji, Japan — the same region producing the finest tea for over 800 years — and prepare every drink to order.
Our menu includes hot and iced ceremonial grade matcha lattes, our signature strawberry matcha, specialty coffee, açaí bowls, and fresh pastries. We open at 8:00am daily — one of the few spots at Blue Tree where you can get a proper breakfast before the rest of the complex opens.
Matcha is also a smart choice for an active day out. The L-theanine amino acid smooths the caffeine curve — sustained focus and energy without the jitteriness. Rich in antioxidants, which matters in Phuket's tropical sun. We have written more about why matcha works so well in Phuket's climate if you are curious.
Food & Drink at Blue Tree — What's Worth Knowing
Blue Tree has a varied food and drink scene. A few places worth knowing about:
- Matchoya — Ceremonial grade matcha cafe, open daily 8am. The best matcha latte at Blue Tree and the only place sourcing directly from Uji, Japan. Also serves specialty coffee, açaí bowls, and pastries. That's us.
- Summer Club — Breakfast, coffee, wine and cocktails right next to Matchoya at Blue Tree. Best bagels in Phuket, all-day breakfast and lunch, open daily 8am–6pm. A sister venue to Matchoya — same location, complementary vibe.
For more food options, Boat Avenue is 5 minutes south with a wider selection of international restaurants.
Our Recommendation
Start the day at Matchoya (8am, before the crowds). Pick up groceries or browse shops mid-morning. Lunch at one of the sit-down restaurants. Padel or Adventure Village in the afternoon. Second coffee at Matchoya before heading to Bangtao Beach for sunset. That covers a full, unhurried day without needing to leave the area.
Best Time to Visit Blue Tree Phuket
Best Season
Blue Tree is an all-year destination — unlike the old water park, most of what is here now functions equally well in rain or shine. November through April (dry season) offers reliably good weather for outdoor walking and the sports facilities. During the wet season (May–October), indoor zones and covered restaurants mean you can still have a good visit even on rainy days.
Best Day of the Week
Weekdays are noticeably quieter. School holidays — Thai and international — bring larger crowds, especially to the Adventure Village. If you are flexible, a weekday morning between 8am and noon is the sweet spot: cooler temperatures, fewer visitors, and the whole complex feels relaxed.
Best Time of Day
Early morning (8–10am) is ideal for food and a quiet walk before the main activity zones open. Late afternoon (4–6pm) is another good window — the heat softens, the light turns golden, and the community atmosphere becomes more social. This is when the complex is at its most alive without being crowded.
Insider Tips for Blue Tree Phuket
- Arrive before 10am. Matchoya and the French bakery are open from early. The complex is quiet, the light is good, and you can eat and explore before the main crowds arrive.
- Book Padel in advance. Courts fill up, especially on weekday evenings and weekend mornings. Check Padel Phuket's booking system before your visit if this is a priority.
- Cash and cards both accepted at most vendors, but smaller stalls may be cash-only. Having 500–1,000 baht in cash is practical.
- Pet friendly. Blue Tree explicitly welcomes pets in its common areas — good to know if you are travelling with a dog.
- The complex is wheelchair accessible throughout the main areas — the open-air format and flat pathways make it one of the more accessible destinations in Phuket.
- For kids: Adventure Village suits 5–14 year olds; Kids' Planet is specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers. Both require separate tickets.
- Photography: Morning light across the open green spaces and architecture is genuinely good. The old lagoon area is no longer there, but the complex's tropical landscaping photographs well.

Why Matchoya and Blue Tree Belong Together
A specialty matcha cafe fits naturally into a lifestyle and community hub. The people who come to Blue Tree for Padel, for a run in Forest Park, for Saturday morning with their kids — they care about what they put in their bodies. They are not looking for a sugar rush. They want something that tastes good and makes them feel good.
That is what ceremonial matcha does well. The L-theanine and natural caffeine work together: real energy, real focus, without the crash. For an active day out, it is better fuel than a standard coffee. We are proud to be the cafe that starts Blue Tree days right — and we are here from 8am if you want to begin yours the same way.
